Dr Beth Cookson

Australia’s Deputy Chief Veterinary Officer Dr Beth Cookson’s Northern Australia role is an important addition to the Office of the Chief Veterinary Officer. Based in Cairns, Dr Cookson and her team’s work focuses on strategy, policy, collaboration and capacity building on animal health and biosecurity threats across northern Australia and building capacity in, and strengthening our relationship, within the Indo-Pacific region including our near neighbour partners in Indonesia, Timor-Leste and Papua New Guinea.
