As a journalist over the past 21 years, Lucy has covered some of the country’s biggest rural and agricultural stores including reforms on water use in the Murray Darling Basin, native vegetation management, the overhaul of Australian wheat marketing, biosecurity reforms, free trade agreements, climate change and renewable energy policies. She also worked in the Canberra Press Gallery with Fairfax Agricultural Media and the Weekly Times.
Lucy has recently stepped back from reporting but uses her skills and understanding of the political process to navigate land use conflicts and pressures from energy companies to access agricultural land in her community.
Lucy lives on a sheep and cattle property in the NSW Southern Tablelands and works in the farm business alongside her husband.
