Nick Blong is the First Assistant Secretary for the Sustainability and Climate Division in the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry.
Nick is leading a program of work across climate adaptation and emissions as well as sustainable agriculture policies. In this role Nick and his team work closely with industry, communities, researchers and with state and territory governments on ensuring Australia remains a world-leading, climate smart producer and exporter of food and fibre.
Previously Nick has worked in a broad range of public policy roles, including WTO trade negotiations, and has also worked extensively in the private sector both in Australia and abroad, including a number of years based in London and Kuala Lumpur.
Nick holds an Honours degree in agricultural economics from the University of Sydney and a Masters degree in international law from the Australian National University.
